Registered Dental Assistant
Tuesday-Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. *** (increased pay during Saturday hours)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

The qualities and characteristics we are searching for in a dental assistant include:
• Good interpersonal communication skills to communicate well with patients and coworkers
• Motivated individual who wants to be part of a team to serve the Austin community
• Must be fluent in English and Spanish
• Maintain sterilization and disinfection standards at all times for instruments and equipment
• Knowledge of advanced treatment planning and use of dental practice software
• Proficiency in fabricating temporary crowns and bridges
• Taking excellent alginate impressions and pouring up models
• Knowledge of assisting during fillings, crowns, bridges, surgical extractions, and root canals
• Knowledge of assisting during crown lengthening and bone grafts is a plus

Manos de Cristo is a non-profit Dental Center in need of a hygienist to add to our team. We are looking for a skillful, energetic, team-oriented, Registered Dental Hygienist who will join our remarkable team of dental professionals. Excellent customer service and attention to detail are required for this position. Experience with Dentrix and Dexis is helpful. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
• Welcome customers to the dental office
• Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
• Select and set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed
• Sterilize instruments according to regulations
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed
• Perform the duties of a dental hygienist, prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling, and root planning
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
• Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
Skills
• Proven experience as a dental hygienist
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
• Understanding of health & safety regulations
• Good computer skills
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Attention to detail
• Well-organized and reliable
• Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus but not required
