MANOS DE CRISTO WALKS IN A SPIRIT OF GRATITUDE FOR ALL OF OUR
PARTNERS IN OUR MISSION OF SERVICE TO OTHERS IN OUR COMMUNITY.
WE THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE TO SERVE OUR NEIGHBORS IN NEED.

On March 15, our world shifted and momentarily everything stood still. We were unsure of what
to expect, how to respond or if our programs would survive the COVID-19 pandemic. It was not
long before our phones began to ring. It was YOU offering Manos de Cristo a lifeline.
You offered hope, love, friendship and gifts to keep us on the front lines in service to others.

Our Dental Staff never wavered; they followed CDC, ADA and the Texas Dental Board
guidelines. They remained ready and willing to see patients needing emergency procedures
- keeping them out of hospital emergency rooms. The Dental Center kept their doors open
Monday through Saturday by rotating staff. The CDC and the Texas Dental Board requirements
for personal protective equipment became the new normal for all Dental staff members.

Our Adult Education Program responded by shifting all classes online for teachers and
students. Attending class for students and teachers was both easy and hard. While volunteer
teachers could teach from anywhere in the United States, some of our students faced
technology obstacles they needed to overcome. Our Education classes continue to teach new
online skills to our adult learners.

The demand for food started to grow in proportion to the number of unemployed people.
By July, the Food Pantry was serving 1,200 people a month, about three times the amount
from last July. The numbers of people continue to grow and so does the help from our friends.
YOU made it possible to feed the hungry.

We have all been through a difficult year, but because of YOU and your generosity, it has been
possible. Life is better when you share the uncertain times with your friends.

Thank you for being the change you want to see in others.
Thank you for being a #ManosChangeMaker.

Stay safe and be well.
